A memorial service for Betty Louise Hendricks Morton, 73, of Rayle, was held Saturday, July 17, 2010, at the residence of Teresa and Vincent Price, Rayle. She died Tuesday, July 13, at Select Specialty Hospital, Augusta.

Mrs. Morton was a native of Wilkes County and was the daughter of the late Clarence Stamey and Ruth Psalmond Hopkins. She was the widow of Walt Morton. She had lived in California and Lincoln County until returning to Wilkes County 14 years ago. She was a retired seamstress and member of Rock United Methodist Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Teresa Price and her husband, Vince Price, of Rayle, and Debra Harper, Newport News, Va.; a brother, Charles R. “Rusty” Hendricks Jr., Sylvania; a sister, Peggy Cason, Martinez; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Beggs Funeral Home of Lincolnton was in charge of arrangements.
