McNeil Coleman

Funeral services for McNeil Coleman, 81, were held Saturday, July 17, 2010, at the Trinity Baptist Church with Rev. H.M. Easley officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery. He died July 13.

Mr. Coleman was a native of Wilkes County and the son of the late Early and Mary D. Coleman. He was a farmer in his earlier years and later worked at C.E. Minerals. He was self-employed as owner of J&S Trucking and was a member of Trinity Baptist Church where he was a deacon.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Jo Pearl Coleman; two sons, Mac Coleman Jr. of Knoxville, Tenn., and Freddie M. Coleman of Fayetteville, N.C.; five daughters, Mary L. Wilson, Tignall, Opal A. Coleman, Smyrna, Vinnie L. Coleman, Tignall, Janice O. Quinn, Washington, and Sandra E. Coleman, Tignall; seven sisters, Geraldine Steed, Tignall, Vinnie Taylor, Nashville, Tenn., Agnes Hall, Chicago, Dorothy Taylor, Atlanta, Marie Andrews, Tignall, Virginia High, Lithonia, Georgia and Olivia Dorsey, Atlanta; 12 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

McLendon Memorial Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
