We had good services in revival at Clifford’s Grove Baptist Church. Rev. Donald Walton gave inspiring messages each evening. Everyone enjoyed the homemade ice cream supper and fellowship hour after services Wednesday night. ƒWe were happy to have Mrs. Juanita Bradford and her daughter-in-law, Mary Lou Bradford, join Clifford's Grove by letter. ƒI had a nice chat with Priscilla Maxwell (she was the Tyrone news correspondent for many years.) She called about my comments on my memories of services in by-gone days, and she agreed that things have really changed. She is a member of Phillips Mill Baptist Church. Although she is not able to attend every Sunday she is looking forward to their homecoming on August 8, and also they will be celebrating their 225th anniversary. Several of their former pastors are expected to attend. Their revival will also begin that day. ƒVisiting Reid and Kathryn Filipiak during the weekend were her parents, Andy and Beth Bussey of Columbus. ƒIris Dyson had a number of visitors at Washington Manor during the weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Dickerson of Savannah visited Saturday afternoon. He was an employee of Wilkes Telephone and Electric Company several years while she worked there. Paul Lewis and his daughter Pam also visited Saturday. The Lewis family and Lance family were neighbors on the Lundberg road many years ago. ƒTad and Marcia Hopkins of Evans and John Hopkins of Athens visited Iris Sunday afternoon. ƒVisiting Willard and Sue Lance during the weekend were James and Keeley Lance of Augusta, and Elizabeth and Chris Conway of Athens. ƒI attended services at Tignall Baptist Church with James Sunday evening. Rev. Charles Drummond preached a good message on "Accepting Responsibility." ƒPeople don't care how much you know, until they know how much you care.
