It was good to be with old friends who are still members there, and with my brother and sister-in-law, James and Sharon Smith who live in Stephens and are members at Antioch. Rev. Charles Jones, guest speaker, brought a wonderful homecoming message. I enjoyed the choir and especially the special, "Jesus Is Coming Soon," by the choir. They had a new pianist who played beautifully. Jean Moore, pianist for many years, had given it up because she said her hands weren't working so well any more. I also got to hear most of the wonderful Sunday School lesson. A bountiful dinner was served in the fellowship hall after the service due to the heat, breaking a longtime tradition of having the meal out under the trees. It was indeed good to see old friends, Jean Moore and family, Don and Joni Keiser and children, Robert Sanders and family, Marilyn Hester Mattox and family, LaNelle Hester and family, Harvey Hester and family, Mrs. Leon Ray, Patsy Spratlin, Martha Stpratlin, Sue Jones, Lily Ruth McFarland, and many other friends whom I have met over the years as I go back to homecomings and other special events. It was a great homecoming day at Antioch. ƒSandy Whittington attended a baby shower for Karla Dawson Grimaud at the home of Donna Hardy. ƒGeorge and Mozelle Casey and Frances Fendley visited Meadow Maxey in Lexington Wednesday. ƒJ.W. and Bonnie Boatwright went to Thomson Friday afternoon to browse around and enjoyed eating at Ryan's.
