lMal and Anna Norman Heaton of Moulton, Ala., enjoyed the weekend in Washington. On Friday night they were joined by Billy Dunnaway, Thomas Albea and Yvonne Albea for dinner at the Washington Jockey Club. Saturday night they hosted a cookout by the pool with guests, Dottie Norman, Billy Dunnaway and Thomas and Yvonne Albea. lVisiting Sunday with Edward and Susan Pope were John, Katherine, Anna and Caroline Gentry of Athens. Anna and Caroline remained in Washington for a visit with their grandparents. lTravis and Bettye Armour returned home Saturday from a trip to Cary, N.C., and points beyond. They visited Joel, Angie, Hannah and Trevor Hudson of Cary and joined them for a couple of days at their lake home on Lake Gaston, Va. They returned to Cary Friday night for a birthday dinner for Joel Hudson and other guests included his parents. On the way home Saturday they visited Mike, Lisa, Lindsey, Moni and Jeremy Brians in Charlotte, N.C. lKathy Nash Callaway of Gloucester, Va., visited several days with Herman and Amelia Wheatley and were Thursday night supper guests of Karl and Becky Hughey. On Saturday “the girls” enjoyed lunch at Gabby’s by the Lake at the Ritz Carlton on Lake Oconee as all celebrated Mrs. Wheatley’s birthday. lCarol Cartledge and Patsy Bailey were in Blairsville Sunday where they enjoyed the Butternut Festival and from there toured Blue Ridge. A day last week Winston Bailey joined the ladies for a visit with their cousin and Wilkes County native, Louise Brown, who now resides in Augusta. lSparky and Mary Newsome traveled to Washington, D.C., Thursday to enjoy the weekend with their daughter, Molly. On Friday and Saturday Molly took her parents on a whirlwind tour of Washington enjoying many sights that included Arlington National Cemetery and Arlington House, the Capitol, the monuments surrounding The Mall and several of the venues of the Smithsonian. Molly returned to Washington with her parents after having spent nine weeks iin Washington, D.C. as an intern..
