Fishing Creek hosting country cooking supper fund-raiser August 28
The Christian Service Organization of Fishing Creek Baptist Church will have a country cooking supper fund-raiser at the church Saturday, August 28, from 6 to 8 p.m.
A gospel singing with local talent will begin at 5 p.m. Cost for the supper is $7.00 per plate. All proceeds will go to James Edmond to help with his expenses to obtain a medical procedure in Germany. Additional donations are encouraged.
James was in an accident and has been paralyzed from the neck down for the last 16 years. He was at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta and then was transported to Shepherd Spinal Center in Atlanta. He spent 90 days there and was placed on a ventilator for 60 days.
It has been a life-changing experience but with his family supporting him he has been able to cope with it. He is in need of donations to have spinal cord treatment in Cologne, Germany, a very costly procedure. He feels that it would be a lifechanging experience for him and his family.
He has been accepted for the treatment which is not available in America.
Rev. Roy Cates is pastor of Fishing Creek Baptist Church and can be contacted at 706-318-2257.
