There will not be a fifth Sunday meal at Clifford’s Grove Baptist Church this month. Plans are being made for a special service on September 12. A covered dish meal will be served that day. ƒJames and I attended revival services at Phillips Mill Baptist Church Tuesday and Wednesday nights. On Wednesday night the residents of Penfield Christian Home came and sang their special song, “Victory In Jesus.” Homemade ice cream was served in the fellowship hall after the service. ƒWe are happy Mrs. Juanita Bradford had a good report from her cancer doctor in Augusta Friday. ƒAfter spending a couple of nights in Wills Memorial Hospital, Iris Dyson is feeling somewhat better. ƒPhilip Huff visited us Saturday afternoon. That evening, he and Mae Dell attended her 50th year class reunion at the Woman’s Club. ƒChris Lance of Griffin visited Willard and Sue Lance while Kathryn attended the class reunion. ƒWillard and Sue Lance visited Elizabeth and Chris Conway at their home in Amity Saturday evening. ƒCharles Hopkins, Megan Turner, and Harrison visited Iris Dyson Sunday afternoon. ƒJames Sherrer and Willard Lance were among the many friends and relatives who attended the funeral of George Garrard Sunday afternoon at Smyrna United Methodist Church. ƒReid and Kathryn Filipiak left Thursday evening and spent the night at Warm Springs then on to Cape San Blas, Fla., to meet her parents, Beth and Andy Bussey, and all the family for the weekend. They had a wonderful time on the beach. ƒDuty is a matter of the mind. Commitment is a matter of the heart.
