Booker’s Chapel Baptist Church will celebrate its usher board’s anniversary Sunday, September 12, 4 p.m. Guest minister will be Rev. Charles E. Lacey of Martinez, pastor of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Hephzibah, and Mt. Nebo Baptist Church, Washington. Refreshments will be served.

Flint Hill Baptist Church will celebrate its 135th anniversary Sunday, September 5, 11:45 a.m. There will be a cookout following the service.

Fishing Creek Baptist Church wil l have an all-you-caneat Country Cooking Supper Saturday, August 28, 6-8 p.m. A gospel singing with local talent will begin at 5 p.m. Cost is $7.00 each. Proceeds will go to James Edmond to help with expenses to obtain a medical procedure in Germany.

Looking for some good books at bargain-basement prices? Stop by the Friends' Bookstore at the Mary Willis Library. The shelves have been reorganized and replenished with hardback and paperback books, videos, books on tape, etc. Open during library hours. Come in out of the summer heat and browse.

Pompey's Chapel Baptist Church will have revival services August 26-27, 7:30 p.m. each evening. Guest speakers will be Evangelist Sheila Smith, Thursday; and Rev. Demetrius Porter, Friday.

ƒ The Tignall Baptist Youth will host a fifth Sunday night rally at the church on Sunday, August 29, at 6 p.m. The rally is for all area youth. Brian George will be the guest speaker.

The 17th anniversary of Transforming Life Ministries (TLM) and the pastoral appreciation and birthday celebration of the founder, Amethyst D. Wynn, will be September 26, 3 p.m., at the Third Shiloh Center. Special guests will be Bishop Jonathan Greer II, pastor, Divine Love Fellowship Church, Atlanta; Minister Bryant Ware and the New Beginnings Choir; and the Laborers and Harvest Choir with Pastor and Evangelist Crawford, Covington. Dinner will be served.

"The Way We Wore," a vintage fashion show, will be held Friday, September 17, from noon until 2:30 p.m. at the Washington Woman's Club. This fundraiser is to honor the memory of Bill Bennett for the benefit of the North Alexander School Association. The annual Fall Cruise-In on The Square in downtown Washington will be held Saturday, September 11, 6-9 p.m. Memory Lane Cruisers is sponsor of the Cruise-In which is open to antiques, hot rods, trucks and motorcycles. There is a $10 registration fee, and Tommy Landrum's Cruzin' to the Oldies will be providing the music. There will be food, prizes, and fun for the family. The first 100 to register will receive dash plaques. The show is open to the public.

New Sutton Temple Baptist Church will have a women's conference titled "I love me better than that" Friday, September 24, 7:30 p.m. The speaker will be Evangelist Sheila Smith. Heard’s Chapel Baptist Church will celebrate the second anniversary of Pastor Paul Hull Sunday, September 5, 11:30 a.m. Rev. Garner Shorter and the Lyonsville Baptist Church will be in charge of services.

Lionel Wilson of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Locust Trove will be the guest speaker on Monday and Thursday nights. Dr. Maurice Watson of Beulahland Bible Church in Macon will be the guest speaker on Tuesday and Wednesday nights.

The Word Bible Study Class will have its 14th annual tent service Saturday, September 25, 11 a.m. until 4:15 p.m. The event will be on Lexington Avenue on the vacant lot across from the entrance to Jackson Street. Invited ministers are asked to preach five to 10 minute mini-sermons on the theme "Lord, Help Me to Forgive." In case it rains, the service will be held at Mark's Tabernacle Baptist Church. Brinkley's Chapel Baptist Church will have its annual revival services September 6-10, 7:30 p.m. Rev. Jimmy McCullough of the Ways Grove Baptist Church will be the evangelist for the week. Homecoming will be held on Sunday, September 12, 2 p.m. with Rev. David Kemp and the Brinson Hill and Antioch Rock Creek Baptist churches in charge of the service.
