There was something magnetic about the old pickup rat rod that drew men to stare, and a crowd of hot rods, classics, and antiques will return Saturday, September 11, for the Fall Cruise-In on The Square. As they have for years past, Memory Lane Cruisers car club will donate the profits from the twice-a-year Cruise-Ins to various causes and charities including the Wilkes EMS, the Washington Fire Department, the Mary Willis Library, the Wilkes County unit of the Salvation Army, and the Wilkes County Animal Shelter. The Fall Cruise-In begins at 6 p.m. Entries will get a dash plaque and door prizes will be given away.
