‘Look Good, Feel Better’ session is set Sept. 14 at McDuffie hospital
The next “Look Good…Feel Better” session for residents of Wilkes County will be held Tuesday, September 14, from 5-7 p.m. at the McDuffie Regional Medical Center in Thomson.
“Look Good…Feel Better” is a free program that teaches adult female cancer patients how to cope with the appearance-related side effects of chemotherapy and radiation treatments.
“Volunteer cosmetologists lead the program that includes a 12-step skin care and makeup program as well as demonstrations on hair/ wig techniques to help restore a positive self-image,” said Summer Garrison, American Cancer Society Senior Community Manager. “Each participant receives a free gift kit of name-brand cosmetics for use during and after the workshop.”
The kits are donated by the Personal Care Products Council Foundation. The American Cancer Society and McDuffie Regional Medical Center have partnered together to offer this class.
These classes are available for residents in Wilkes, McDuffie, Lincoln, Jefferson, and Warren Counties. To RSVP, contact Dawn Swan at McDuffie Regional Medical Center, 706-597-5202.
