Washington Police block traffic in preparation for removing a light pole damaged last Wednesday when Washington restaurant owner Ed Franklin lost control of his Hummer H3 in front of the former Essex plant. Although the SUV was severely damaged, Franklin sustained only minor injuries and was treated and released from Wills Memorial Hospital. A City of Washington electric crew tended to the damaged pole, which supported a telephone line across the street.
