Just a reminder about the special service and covered dish lunch at Clifford’s Grove Baptist Church September 12. Plan to come. ƒ Saturday, August 28, was James Sherrer's 87th birthday. We left Friday morning going to Lake Murry near Lexington, S.C., to meet his family, Jimmy, Debbie, and Jamie, Nikki, Keith, and baby Jackson, all of Raleigh; Ed and Deb Cox and Edna Sherrer of Bennettsville. Jimmy rented a beautiful house near the lake for the weekend. Boatrides were enjoyed Saturday and that evening we went out for dinner then came back to celebrate with gifts and a beautiful cake for James. Jimmy and I have birthdays in September so we also were presented with gifts and cakes. We had a wonderful time, but best of all was time spent with Jackson. He is six months old and is such a happy and healthy little boy. ƒ James and Judy Braxton went to Hull Saturday to help celebrate the first birthday of their granddaughter, Emmie Braxton. Her parents honored her with a lovely party. Also going from this area were Paul and Teresa Williamson, Azalee Dawson and Tim Harris. Many other friends and family members joined them for the happy occasion. ƒTrudy Sutherland and Mrs. Juanita Bradford went to Augusta for Trudy's doctor's appointment Tuesday. After that they enjoyed having lunch and shopping before returning home.
ƒCharles and Lance Hopkins visited their mother, Iris Dyson, at Washington Manor Sunday afternoon. ƒWhitney and Charlie Branham enjoyed the youth rally at Tignall Baptist Church Sunday night. ƒSincere sympathy is extended to the family of Freddy Brown. He was a wellknown musician and loved to sing and play at churches and special occasions. He will certainly be missed by many. ƒHousework won't kill you, but why take the chance? ƒHousework is something you do that nobody notices unless you don't do it.
