... near the Mississippi’s beginning
Virgil Wolter took his News-Reporter on a week’s vacation to Minnesota. He began his trip with a trip to Itaska State Park and the headwaters of the Mississippi River which he had previously visited some 50 years ago. He then visited his niece in Lake Ottertail and attended a family reunion in Melrose. When visiting his brother in Wadena, he took a tour of the tornado-damaged area that was destroyed earlier this year. His brother’s home was not affected by the tornado. This News-Reporter is 1,091 miles from home.
