Withholding taxes suggested as way to express feelings

Since the vote to build an $8.2 million hotel in Washington by the mayor and his cohorts, we have had numerous letters in the paper letting them know how we feel – to evidently no changing of the minds. I cannot find anyone who wants this – black, white, yellow, purple, red or green.

So, my suggestion would be for us city taxpayers to band together and just not pay our city taxes (like some of our elected officials have done in the past) and let them definitely know how WE feel. This situation has gotten ridiculous – the council is supposed to listen to the people and the people have spoken – WE DO NOT WANT A HOTEL – so, now let’s show them by withholding city tax dollars!
