Classes, clubs, sports, news staff in full swing for year at W-WMS
W-WMS is proud to bring its news to our community through this weekly article written by the Tiger News Staff. Serving on the Tiger News Staff are: Hannah Forrester, Kasey Gowen, Ashlyn Holley, Brannon James, Hayley Lavender, Divesia Lee, Amy McAvoy, Jacob Morgan, Megan Thackston, Hope Ward, Erin Wilson, and Micah Young. Advised by business and computer science teacher Lise Kalla, these students will also develop the W-WMS yearbook and publish the quarterly school newsletter, Tiger
Paw.
The clubs are getting in gear for the new school year. The Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) recently held a membership drive for all seventh and eighth graders, regardless of their participation in sports. The Beta Club, a national organization that promotes excellence in education and also supports community service, recently accepted applications from sixth, seventh, and eighth grade students. The Future Business Leaders of America held its first meeting September 2. The members discussed their upcoming eighth-grade membership drive in September.
The classrooms are in full swing with projects and assessments. The students in Katy Meech’s eighth-grade Georgia Studies class are working on a project in which they pretend that they are on the Georgia Tourism Board. After researching and placing their data in a table, they will make a collage of pictures that represent the three physiographic regions of Georgia. All eighth-grade students took a writing assessment on August 25 to see what skills may need improving before they take the Georgia Writing Assessment in January.

The Lady Tigers travelled to Louisville September 1 and took home their third victory with a 24-7 win. Great job Lady Tigers and keep up the good work!
The Tiger football team started the season August 26 with an 8-6 win against Louisville in a hot and challenging game. On September 2, WWMS faced Wrens in Washington.
