Funeral services for Joyce Holloway Parton, 78, of Lincolnton, were held Friday, September 3, 2010, at Martin’s Crossroads Congregational Holiness Church with Rev. Kenneth Law, Rev. Addison Belangia, and Rev. James James officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery. She died Wednesday, September 1, in the University Hospital, Augusta.

Mrs. Parton was a lifelong resident of Lincoln County, and was the daughter of the late Paul and Blanche Ross Holloway. She was a retired seamstress, and attended Martin’s Crossroads Congregational Holiness Church. She was the widow of Johnnie Parton.

Survivors include a daughter, Joy Parton Ray of Washington; three sisters, Nelle H. Parton, Rutherfordton, N.C., Dot Snider, and Betty Stevens of Lincolnton; two grandchildren, Brittany Ray and Brandi Ray of Washington.

Memorials may be made to Martin’s Crossroads Congregational Holiness Church Building Fund.

Beggs Funeral Home of Lincolnton was in charge of arrangements.
