Graveside services for Loretta Evans, 71, of Washington were held Friday, September 3, 2010, in Resthaven Cemetery with her cousin, Rev. Patricia Wilder, officiating. She died Monday, August 30, at her home.

Miss Evans was a native of Wilkes County and the daughter of the late Marshal Evans and Ethel Wymbs Evans. Her profession as a licensed nurse provides many memories and will be cherished by many friends and relatives.

Survivors include two brothers, Marshall Evans Jr. of Media, Penn., and James Evans of Atlanta; nieces, Denise Claridy, Elaine Evans, Marsha Evans, Loretta Evans, Kiki Evans, and Sheila Crew-Smith; and two nephews, Andre Evans and Jamal Evans.

Honorary pallbearers were Andre Butler, Andre Evans, Jamal Evans, Jessie Sims Jr., Edward Wilder, and Edwin Wilder.

Davenport-McLendon Mortuary Inc. of Washington was in charge of arrangements.
