Michael Bunch returns from Taiwan engineering internship

Michael Bunch has returned from an extended stay in Taiwan where he was working at National Tsing Hua University representing Georgia Tech on a research internship.

Michael, son of Eddie and Robin Bunch of Milledgeville, grandson of Zan and Marjorie Bunch and great-grandson of Ellyn Bunch, all of Tignall, is a student of Armstrong College in Savannah..

While in Taiwan Michael did research on designing an engine that runs on compressed air.

Also on this trip he was able to discover Taiwan, an island about the fourth of the size of Georgia that is located fifty miles off the coast of China in the Pacific Ocean. The Portuguese named the island Ilha Formosa which means beautiful island. He was able to concur with the description as he was aware its scenic beauty as well as the beauty of the people whom he described as “some of the nicest he had ever met, always willing to lend a helping hand.” While on the island he enjoyed hiking the jungle mountains and snorkeling the coral reefs.
