Annual Campmeeting June 4-12 slated for Fountain Campground

Fountain Campground will hold its annual Campmeeting on June 4-12.

To kick off the event, there will be a barbecue chicken supper and gospel singing on Saturday, June 4, beginning at 5 p.m. Featured groups include the New Apostles of Crawfordville and the Southern Song Masters of Thomson. Plates will be $7 each. Those interested are asked to contact Lynda Fluker at 706-595- 1311 to purchase tickets.

A one-night youth revival is set for Sunday, June 5, beginning at 7 p.m.

On June 6-10, morning worship services will be held at 10:30 a.m. by Rev. Andy Collins of Sharon Baptist Church. Afternoon Bible studies will be held at 3 p.m. by David Sisler of Macedonia United Methodist Church as well. Those interested in attending the afternoon studies are asked to contact Rev. Sisler at 706-373-7897 or david@davidsisler.com so handouts can be prepared. An evening worship service will be held at 8 p.m. each night and will be led by Dr. Kirk Bozeman of Northbrook United Methodist Church in Roswell.

A covered dish supper will be held on June 8 under the tabernacle at 6 p.m. Following the supper, Kentucky Jones and Dale Wiley will present a memorial and history service at 7:30 p.m.

On June 10, immediately following the morning worship service, an ice cream social will be held.

June 12 is considered the “Big Sunday,” with Sunday School at 10 a.m. and the Big Sunday worship service at 11 a.m. A covered dish lunch will begin at noon.

Dr. Kirk Bozeman, evening worship leader, also serves on the North Georgia Annual Conference Board of Ordained Ministry as a member of the Executive Committee. He is also the chairman of the Committee on Local Pastors and Transfers, a Covenant Group leader, and a member of the Theology and Doctrine Interview Team.

He holds a Master of Divinity Degree from the Candler School of Theology and a Doctor of Theology Degree from the Evangelical Theological Seminary where he graduated magna cum laude.

For the past two years, Bozeman has been invited to be the guest preacher/clinician for the North Georgia Annual Conference’s License to Preach School in addition to teaching United Methodist Theology of Grace and The Sacraments.

He is married to the former Carol Winn of Elberton and has two daughters, Katie and Kristen.

Rev. Andy Collins, morning worship leader, has been the pastor of Sharon Baptist Church since June 2004. He worked as a youth director at Sharon for two years and at Powell Baptist Church for four years. He taught high school Social Studies at Butler High School in Augusta before becoming a full-time pastor.

His calling to youth ministry came during a trip to Mexico. He went to help pour concrete to add on to a new church building, but after rain spoiled the plans, the only thing left to do was work with the children. It was during that time that Collins entered into youth ministry.

Fountain Campground is located on Highway 80, approxiamately nine miles north of the Camak/Warrenton exit on I-20. It is located between Cadley and Washington. The public is invited to attend the Campmeeting.
