Congressman tours Berry Plastics

In an effort to understand the state of manufacturing employment in his district, U.S. Rep. Paul Broun toured Berry Plastics’ Washington plant last week with plant manager Todd Wilmot (at right, top photo). “We are touring several industrial plants to see what’s going on in the district,” Broun said. “Americans need jobs, and while Obama promised that his stimulus program would generate jobs, we haven’t seen any improvement in employment.” The Berry Plastics plant, formerly Pliant, is expanding its production of agricultural mulch film and diaper waterproof barrier film, among other products.
