A fundraiser for the Villagorda Family will be a fish fry on Saturday, February 4, 5-7 p.m., at the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church on the North By-Pass, dine-in or take-out. New Ford Baptist Church will have its annual black history month program Sunday, February 12, 3 p.m. The speaker will be Dr. Sam Davis, pastor of Beulah Grove Baptist Church, Augusta. Waggoners Grove Baptist Church Fellowship Choir of Colvert will provide the music. Dinner will be served.

The Wills Memorial Hospital Auxiliary in conjunction with Shepeard Community Blood Center will conduct blood drives in Wilkes County on Thursday, February 16. Blood donations will be received at Wills Memorial Hospital, 120 Gordon Street, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.; and at the First United Methodist Church, 102 W. Liberty Street, from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The Wills Memorial Hospital Auxiliary will have a book and toy sale, February 9, 7 a.m.-6 p.m., in the hospital’s Gordon Street Lobby. The sale will also be held on February 10 at the same location from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Youth Department of the Tignall Baptist Church will spon- sor a soup and sandwich lunch after the morning worship service Sunday morning, February 5. There is no charge for the lunch but donations will be accepted and will be used for the MissionFuge trip this summer.

The movie “Courageous” will be shown at Tignall Baptist Church Saturday, February 25. Anyone who wants to come at 6 p.m. and bring finger foods is welcome. The movie will begin at 6:30 p.m.

The annual John Duggan Scholarship Dinner will be held Monday, February 13, 7 p.m., at the Woman’s Club. Augusta Chronicle columnist Bill Kirby will be the speaker. Tickets are $10 and are available from club members.

Washington-Wilkes Primary School will hold Kindergarten registration for five year old children on Monday-Friday, March 5-9, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day at the school. Any Wilkes County child who will be five years old on or before September 1, 2012, is eligible to attend. All required documents must be on file with the school before school begins in August.
