There were good services at Clifford’s Grove Baptist Church Sunday. Rev. Martin had a nice story for the children and also preached a good message from I Corinthians 1:1-9. After services, everyone enjoyed the covered dish lunch. There was a lot of good food and fellowship time. We missed the members who were sick and unable to attend. .Our annual Valentine banquet will be held on Saturday evening, February 18, at 6 p.m. Mark your calendar and plan to come. There will be lots of fun and delicious food. . Trudy Sutherland visited her brother, Terry Bradford, in Washington Tuesday. .I visited Iris Dyson at Washington Manor Wednesday afternoon. .Willard and Sue Lance went to Athens Saturday and had lunch with Elizabeth and Chris Conway. .Trudy Sutherland and Brad Sutherland had lunch in Augusta Saturday to celebrate his new job. .I went to Sunday night service at Tignall Baptist Church with James. Rev. Gary Purvis and his family of Dewy Rose were in charge of the service. His wife was the pianist and he and their daughter sang a number of songs. Everybody enjoyed the program very much. .James has a new dog. We went to the animal shelter in Madison County two weeks ago and chose her from several dozen dogs. He adopted her then but had to wait and go back to get her Friday. James said he has always had a dog and a pocket knife and he is not happy when he doesn't have them. The last two dogs he had were killed by speeding automobiles in front of our house. The lady at the animal shelter told us if we had not adopted her she would have been put to sleep that day, so we saved her life. She is a pretty dog and her name is Cinnamon but we will call her Cindy. . Happy birthday wishes to my sweet granddaughter, Whitney Branham, who will be 18 years old this Saturday, February 4. ."They say that a man's best friend is his dog because he wags his tail instead of his tongue."
