The McCormick Art Council at the Keturah (MACK), in McCormick, S.C., will host several events in the upcoming weeks including:

. 12th annual Juried Art Exhibition on Friday, February 3, from 6-8 p.m. – Take the opportunity to visit with artists while enjoying light refreshments and viewing the gallery. The Gallery Gift Shop will be open.

. McCormick Art Trot on Friday, February 3, from 6-8 p.m. – The Red Rooster will be open for shopping including the art gallery on the second floor. Books on Main will be open from 5:30-7 p.m. for the Fred Bassett book signing of “South Wind Rising.” Light refreshments will be served.

. Writers’ Opportunity – The MACK is forming a writer’s group. Meeting dates and times are currently being determined. Anyone interested in receiving information regarding upcoming writing workshops or lectures should call 864- 852-3216 or email mccormickarts@gmail.com.

The MACK will also be offering various art classes including

. Gary Marathon’s Painting in Oils – The eight-week course will be held February 1-March 21 every Wednesday from 9 a.m.-noon. MACK member fee is $120 while the non-member fee is $125.

. Bill Updegraff’s Watercolor Techniques – The six-week course will be held February 7-March 13 on each Tuesday from 5-7 p.m. Cost for MACK members is $90. Nonmembers will be $95.

. Harris Bailey’s Genealogy Workshop – Saturday, February 25. There will be no charge for the workshop. Details are unknown at the time but an outline for the event has been posted to the MACK’s web page.

. Jean Gale’s piano lessons – Lessons are held every Monday at a cost of $60 a month. Call the MACK to schedule an appointment.
