Grady L. Reed

Reed, 76, of Lincolnton, were held Saturday, January 28, 2012, at the First Assembly of God, Lincolnton, with Rev. Lanis Lewis and Rev. Terry Bonds officiating. Interment was in Pine Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery. He died Thursday, January 26, at his home.

Mr. Reid was a native of Lincoln County and the son of the late Henry Reed and the late Elsie Spires Reed. He was a member of the First Assembly of God. He and his wife Dovie were owners of the Home Cafe of Lincolnton and Dovie’s Sweet Shop.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Dovie Phillips Reed; a daughter, Teresa Reed Hartman and her husband, Robert of Roswell; a son, John Phillips Reed and his wife, Kristi, of Parksville, S.C.; three grandchildren, Taylor Anne Hartman, Justin Reed, and Jarrett Reed; two brothers, Herbert Reed of Lincolnton, and Johnnie Reed of Washington; three sisters, Katherine Reed of Jacksonville, Fla., Carolyn Fletcher of Lincolnton, and Shirley Hancock of New Jersey.

Rees Funeral Home of Lincolnton was in charge of arrangements.
