The Gideon speaker at Clifford’s Grove Baptist Church Sunday was Clinton Adams of Athens. He gave a good talk about the work of the Gideons and told of testimonies of people who were saved after they received a Gideon Bible. . Everybody had a good time at the Valentine banquet at Clifford's Grove Saturday night. A lot of fun and games and great food were enjoyed. .James and I were among the senior adults who attended the Valentine luncheon at Tignall Baptist Church Tuesday. Rev. Clay Turner ("Cousin Coy") of Cleveland was the entertainer. He kept us laughing. The food was delicious. .After John Sutherland's doctor's appointment in Augusta Tuesday, he and Trudy went out for lunch to celebrate Valentines Day. .Brooke Filipiak of Atlanta spent from Thursday until Sunday with Reid and Kathryn Filipiak. On Saturday they were joined by Brennah Griggs and Chloe Bailey of Washington for a birthday tea. They enjoyed the afternoon in Washington shopping and touring the town. They also attended the Valentine party at Clifford's Grove. Brook attended worship service with Reid and Kathryn Sunday morning. .Sue Davis joined Lois Poss and Gloria Rhodes for lunch Friday at "Wings and Things." .Charles Hopkins of Elbert County visited his mother, Iris Dyson, Friday morning. .Fay Scoggins of Augusta spent the weekend with Sue Davis. .The pastor appreciation banquet given by the Gideons Friday night at the First Baptist Church in Washington was well attended. The food prepared by W.C. and Cheryl Bentley was delicious. After the meal a very good program was enjoyed. A personal testimony was given by Shirley Olsen. Special music was by Joyce Cheek, and the guest speaker was Brent Duncan, the state secretary of Dawson County Gideon Camp. .James Sherrer attended the consecration breakfast at the Washington First Baptist Church Sunday morning. After the meal he directed two of the men to the churches where they were to speak.
