Storyteller-humorist Irwin will entertain at library on Tuesday

Storyteller and humorist Andy Offutt Irwin will perform at the Mary Willis Library on Tuesday, June 5, beginning at 10 a.m.

“With his manic Silly Putty voice, astonishing mouth noises, and hilarious stories, he is equal parts mischievous schoolboy and the Marx brothers, peppered with a touch of the Southern balladeer,” said Mary Willis Library Children’s Librarian Beth Miller.

Other events for the program are scheduled throughout the summer including craft workshops on Thursday, June 14, both at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. The session will allow participants, ages four and up, to decorate and personalize their own piggy, cupcake, robot, or teddy bear banks. Registration for the event will begin on Thursday, June 7. Parents should stop by the library to sign up their children.

The library will also be showing recent movie releases every Wednesday and Friday afternoon as well. To obtain a list of movies to be shown, parents are asked to stop by the library.

A weekly story time will be held each Wednesday at 10 a.m. for children, ages three and up.

There will be two reading clubs this summer. One will be for children, ages 0-fifth grade, and the other for children in sixth grade or older.
