Small business consultations to be available through W-W Chamber

If you own a small businesses, or if you want to start a small business but don’t know enough, you may benefit from a series of upcoming Small Business Development Center consultations being offered by the Washington-Wilkes Chamber of Commerce.

“We’ll set up free, confidential business consultations geared toward your business needs,” Chamber Executive Director Jenny Clarke said. “For chamber members, we’ll arrange your appointment with the consultant and send you confirmation and reminder emails. For nonmembers we can connect you with the SBDC directly.”

The first day of the consultations is set for July 17, and will continue on the third Tuesday of each month, she said. The consultation meetings will take place in private rooms in the courthouse. For more information, call the Chamber at 706-678- 2013.

The consultations can help small businesses with a business plan, marketing plans, help on cash flow and finances, the use of social media in marketing, and any other specific needs the business owner might have, Clarke said.

The small-business consultations may help some local businesses become successful, Chamber Board President Dave Toburen said. “We have a lot of ‘hobby’ businesses that could actually be successful, money-making businesses if the owners would avail themselves of these consultations with successful small businessmen. We want to help.”
