Billy Thomas Savage

Funeral services for Billy Thomas Savage, 72, of Tignall, were held Saturday, July 21, at 11 a.m. at Tignall Baptist Church with Rev. John McPherson officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Mr. Savage died July 17 at Wills Memorial Hospital.

A native of Homer, Georgia, he was the son of the late Clark Roger and Mamie Viola Parr Savage. He was retired from the Washington City Water and Sewer Department. He was a member of Tignall Baptist Church where he had served as a deacon for many years, as well as serving on many church committees. He served his country in the U.S. Navy.

Survivors include two sons, Gregory Lynn Savage of Tampa, Florida, Gary Savage and his wife Cristy, of Monroe; one daughter, Lisa Smith and her husband Mickey, of Washington; sisters Katherine Hainor, Dorothy Scholten, Madelyn Young and Mary Cuce; brothers Wilton Savage and Randy Baker; five grandchildren, and one greatgrandchild

Chris Savage, Jimmy Young, Roger Scott, Wade Ledford, Ronnie Ledford and Donald Ledford served as pallbearers. The deacons of Tignall Baptist Church served as honorary pallbearers.

Hopkins Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
