Wilkes Grand Jury returns indictments on some 40 cases during August session

The August session of the Wilkes County Grand Jury returned indictments on more than 40 individuals and issued no bills in 14 cases.

The following individuals were indicted. Arrest and indictment does not imply guilt, and defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty and convicted.

Carey Stewart Anderson on charges of theft by taking.

Altevian Devon Ashmore on one charge of burglary.

Jefferson Demon Banks on charges of theft by taking and of criminal trespass.

Felicia Barksdale on one charge of battery.

Patrick Oneal Blackmon on charges of possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, driving under the influence of alcohol (less safe), obstruction of an officer, driving on the wrong side of the roadway, and of driving while license is suspended.

Quinton Blakey on one charge of burglary.

Jonathan L. Booker Jr. on charges of possession of cocaine and of violating the open container law.

Albert E. Carlisle on one charge of crossing the guard line with contraband.

Elgin Carter on charges of possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and of crossing the guard line with drugs.

J.W. Carter Jr. on one charge of sale of cocaine.

George Stephen Casey on three charges of burglary.

Barry Chapman, in three separate cases, on charges of theft by taking, three counts of theft by receiving stolen property, and two counts of failure to register as a sex offender.

Frank Chapman on charges of theft by taking and of theft by receiving stolen property.

Darvin Crew on one charge of theft by taking.

Timothy N. Cronic on one charge of child molestation.

Felicia Cullars, in two cases, on charges of simple assault and simple battery.

Myles Whittington Dawson on charges of homicide by vehicle in the first degree, causing serious injury by vehicle, leaving the scene of an accident, driving under the influence (per se), driving under the influence (less safe), and failure to maintain a lane.

Jeremy Lee Dooley on three charges of making harassing phone calls.

Tevin Gresham on charges of aggravated assault (family violence), two counts of aggravated assault, battery (family violence) and possession of a firearm during commission of a felony.

Marquitta Hall on charges of theft by taking, criminal trespass, fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer, no proof of insurance, driving while license is suspended, no tag, too fast for conditions, failure to maintain a lane, improper turn at an intersection, and failure to stop at a stop sign.

Gregory Harris on charges of theft by taking and of theft by receiving stolen property.

Michael Scott Hosey on a charge of manufacture of marijuana.

Jason Gerard Jackson on charges of theft by taking, theft by receiving stolen property, theft of lost or mislaid property, giving false information to a law enforcement officer, driving while license is suspended, and speeding.

David Eugene Locklear on charges of crossing the guard line with contraband.

Christopher James Lowe on four counts of theft by taking.

James William Martin, in two cases, on charges of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and of theft by receiving stolen property.

Avery Mathis on a charge of simple assault (family violence).

Thomas Axill McCarty on one count of burglary in the second degree.

Antquan Leon Milton on one count of crossing the guard line with drugs.

Lucious Tavoris Milton on charges of aggravated assault and of battery.

Tracy Lynn Milton on charges of aggravated assault and of battery.

Michael Anthony Osborne on one charge of theft by receiving stolen property.

Remington Chase Osborne on one charge of possession of cocaine.

Tyricas D’Juan Parks on charges of theft by taking, theft by receiving stolen property, and of theft of lost or mislaid property.

Demetrius Perkins on charges of possession of cocaine with intent to distribute and of possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.

Kelly Randall on one charge of possesson of marijuana less than one ounce.

Frankie Lee Shank on charges of aggravated assault and cruelty to children in the third degree.

Daryl Skobba on one charge of making a false statement in an official investigation.

Quintario A. Smith on one charge of the sale of marijuana.

Marcus Sturgis on charges of burglary and theft by receiving stolen property.

Nolberto Soto Torres on charges of sexual battery and two charges of simple battery (family violence).

Terrance D. Walton on one charge of burglary.

Jamie Lynn Webb on one charge of burglary.

Willie Howard Welborne on one count of criminal attempt to commit theft by taking.

Darrell K. Wynn on one charge of terroristic threats.

Darrell Kenneth Wynn on one charge of battery (family violence).
