Claude William Bolton

Graveside services for Claude William Bolton, 77, of Berkshire Drive, Washington, were held Monday, August 27, at 11 a.m. at the Washington-Wilkes Memorial Garden with Rev. Kevin Madden officiating. He died Saturday, August 25, at his home.

Born and raised in the Delhi community in Wilkes County, Mr. Bolton had lived in Wilkes County for most of his life. He was the husband of Ivelisse Torres Bolton and was the son of the late George Henry Bolton and Mary Belcher Bolton. He was a member of the Hiram Masonic Lodge #51 and was a Shriner. He had worked in construction management for a number of years and was a member of the Tignall Baptist Church.

In addition to his wife, survivors include two sons, Claude William Bolton, Jr. and his wife Cathy, of Honea Path, South Carolina, and Phillip Bolton and his wife Leslie, of Abingdon, Virginia; two daughters, Sheila B. Callaway and her husband Rick, and Sandra B. Gammon and her husband Craig, both of Washington; and six grandchildren.

Wayne Shoemaker, David Shoemaker, Tommy Bolton, Greg Bolton, Brian Lance, Guy Lance, Jason Callaway, and Cary Callaway served as pallbearers, and Jimmy Demastes served as an honorary pallbearer.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children, Donations/Memorial Contributions, 950 West Faris St., Greenville, South Carolina, 29605.

Hopkins Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
