The sound of horsepower rocks the Fall Cruise-In

Spectators plug their ears as a 2,000-horsepower alcohol-powered funny car owned by Charlie Anderson and Mike George is fired up Saturday at the Memory Lane Cruisers Fall Cruise-In on The Square in Washington. Car owners and spectators alike enjoyed the cars, food, and Tommy Landrum’s Cruzin’ to the Oldies. Money raised at these events is donated by club members to support several Wilkes County organizations and services, including the Washington-Wilkes Animal Shelter, the Wills Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, the Mary Willis Library, the Wilkes County Unit of the Salvation Army, the Washington Fire Department, and God’s Marketplace.
