Albert Wylie Jr.

Funeral services for Albert “June” Wylie Jr. were held Saturday, September 1 at 2 p.m. at Springfield Baptist Church with Pastor Patricia Wilder officiating. Interment followed at Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Crawfordville, and a repast was held at the Roy L. Burns Senior Center. He died August 25.

Mr. Wylie was born in Washington, the son of the late Albert Wylie and the late Lula Mae Booker Wylie Miller. He was the stepson of James A. Miller, and joined the Macedonia Baptist Church at an early age.

Survivors include his companion, Pamela Williams of Washington; two daughters, Melody and Mercedes Williams; four brothers, Michael Wylie and his wife Mary, David Miller and his wife Shelia, both of Thomson, Ronnie Miller, and Wayne Miller and his wife Coretta; six sisters, Mary Alice Grant and her husband Curtis, Mildred Hudson, Patricia Wylie, and Gwendolyn Lockhart, all of Washington, Shirley Berry and her husband Samson of Norwood, Georgia, and Carol Wright of North Carolina; four grandchildren; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Pallbearers included Charles Acree, Charles Bell, Charles Bell Jr., Larry Bell, Marion Bell, Bobby Canady, Nathaniel Cullars, Charles Curry, Joseph Norman, Randy Turner, and Marion Tutt Jr.

McLendon Memorial Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
