Proclamation designates week of Sept. 17 as Constitution Week

Barnett presented the Kettle Creek Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution ( NSDAR) a proclamation designating the week of Sep- tember 17 as Constitution Week in Washington.

September 17, 2012, will mark the 225th anniversary of the drafting of the Constitution of the United States of America by the Constitutional Convention and Mayor Barnett asks all citizens to reaffirm the ideals that the framers of the Constitution had in l787.

The Kettle Creek NSDAR chairperson for Constitution Week celebrations, Second Vice-Regent C. Carol Cartledge, accepted the proclamation for the chapter membership remembering the sacrifices made by those who fought in the American Revolution, and the role played by the thirty-nine delegates at the Constitutional Convention in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, 225 years ago that irrevocably changed the course of history.
