The annual Tignall Christmas parade will be held on Sunday, December 2, at 3 p.m.

The annual Episcopal Bazaar will be held at the Old Vicarage adjacent to the Church of the Mediator beginning at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, December 1. The traditional luncheon will be held in the Parish House at 11:30 a.m.

Christmas caroling around the Christmas tree at the gazebo on the old school grounds in Tignall will be Thursday night, December 6, beginning at 6:30 p.m. The public is invited.

Wilkes County Health Department has flu shots available. The shots are given on Thursdays or contact the health department 706- 678-2622 for other days and times.

The Wilkes County Relay for Life organization is looking for volunteers to become a part of the 2013 leadership team. Call Andi Van Airsdale of the American Cancer Society at 706-731-0152 for more information.

The Washington-Wilkes Christmas Parade of Lights is set for Saturday, December 8, at 6 p.m. and is seeking participants and sponsors. Applications are available at the W-W Welcome Center or from committee members. Float entry forms are available at the W-W Parks and Recreation office. Call 706-678-1445 for details.

Raytown Baptist Church will have a Christmas musical Friday, December 7, 7 p.m., with refreshments following.

The piano students of Ruth Harris will present their annual recital at Callaway Plantation on Sunday, December 16, from 2-4 p.m. An opportunity for a last look at Christmas decorations will be available during the performances. There is no admission fee.

The Callaway Plantation Christmas Candlelight Tour will be held on Friday, December 7, from 4-9 p.m. and the regular Christmas Tour will be held on Saturday, December 8, from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Admission included in W-W Historical Foundation Christmas Tour ticket price, or $5.00 separately.

Mrs. Santa Claus will be accepting Christmas wish lists at Callaway Plantation on Friday, December 7 from 4-9 p.m., and on Saturday, December 8, from 10 a.m.-5 p.m.

The Washington-Wilkes Toastmasters Club will meet from 6-7:15 p.m. on Monday, December 17, at the Mary Willis Library. Anyone 18 and older with a desire to improve public speaking and leadership skills is invited to attend.

Booker’s Chapel Baptist Church will celebrate Rev. Dante Smith’s 23rd anniversary on Sunday, December 2, at 3 p.m. Rev. D.T. Batts of New Life Bible Church will be the speaker. He will be accompanied by his church and choir. Dinner will be served.

Little Roy Lewis, Lizzy Long, and Friends will be picking and singing at the Metasville Schoolhouse, 3219 Metasville Road, Thanksgiving night, November 22, at 7 p.m. The ladies of Rehoboth Baptist Church will furnish refreshments. The public is invited to attend. A love offering will be taken.
