4-H’er exhibits at state livestock show

Wilkes County 4-H’er Madison Gunter participated in the Georgia Junior National Livestock Show in Perry, Georgia last weekend where she received honorable mention in the fifth-grade showmanship class.

She placed eighth in her heifer’s weight class and eighth in her steer’s weight class. While competing at the state show Madison was able to participate in the First Year Steer Exhibitors Show which is for all first year steer exhibitors who have never shown before. Madison placed seventh overall with her steer “Pee-Wee.”

“As this year’s show season comes to an end this coming weekend at the Washington Area Steer and Heifer Show the 4-H office staff would like to wish every Market Beef Exhibitor good luck on a season well done for many in Wilkes County,” County 4-H Agent Audra Armour said.
