The Cherry Grove Baptist Church will hold its Deacon Fellowship Program on June 23 at 4 p.m.

. R egistration for Summer Basketball Camp 2013 at the W-W Parks and Recreation Department will continue through May 23 for boys and girls ages 5-14.

New Saints C.M.E. Church Vacation Bible School will be held May 27-31 at 6:30 each evening. There will be classes for all ages.

The W-WPRD will hold a oneday cheerleader camp on Wednesday, June 19, from 1-3:30 p.m. at the recreation gym for girls ages 5-12. Cost is $10 per child.

The Washington Chapter of OLLI @ UGA will meet Mondays, May 13 and 20, 2 p.m., at Parish House. John Grosshans will lead the two sessions titled, “Geological Influences in Wilkes County Georgia.” Members and visitors are invited.

The Twin Oak Baptist Church Women’s Day program will be May 12 at 11:45 am. Evangelist Kathy Butler will be the guest speaker.

New Sutton Temple Baptist Church Youth will be having a car wash at Advance Auto Parts on May 18 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. There will be one free hot dog and soda per driver as they wait.

The Hilliard Station Baptist Church will observe its anniversary on Sunday, May 19, at 11:45 a.m. with Rev. H.M. Ealey of Trinity Baptist Church in Tignall as speaker. Dinner will be served.

The First Baptist Church of Lincolnton will host a Women’s Conference May 17-18 with the theme, “Women of Prayer.” Rev. Lisa Alston will be the guest speaker on Friday night at 7:30. On Saturday from 9:30 a.m.-noon, Rev. Penny Quinn will be the speaker. Registration begins at 9:30 a.m. and lunch will be served after the program.

Mount Carmel Baptist Church will host its annual Vacation Bible School June 3-7, 6-8 p.m. with a theme of “Rock It Out!” Children and adults are invited to attend. Robin Booker is the director. Rev. Charles Belton is the pastor.

The Washington Seventh Day Adventist Church Food Pantry and Clothes Closet will be open on the fourth Thursday, May 23, from 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. rather than the third Thursday.

The Reese Booker and Rosa Grant Warthen Annual Memorial Scholarship fundraising program will be held at Mark’s Tabernacle on Sunday, May 26, at 6 p.m. Sheena Hull and Corine Daniels of New Springhill Baptist Church will be the guest speakers. The Washington-Wilkes Toastmasters Club will meet from 6-7:30 Monday, May 20, at the Mary Willis Library for the purpose of viewing the acclaimed Toastmasters movie “SPEAK.” Anyone at least 18 years of age with a desire to improve public speaking and leadership skills is invited to attend and view this inspirational movie. Popcorn and soft drinks will be served.
