Darcy Marie Hays marries Brandon McClure Nunn

Mr. and Mrs. Brandon McClure Nunn Mr. and Mrs. Brandon McClure Nunn Darcy Marie Hays of Maroa, Ill., and Brandon McClure Nunn of Crawfordville were united in marriage in an impressive ceremony Saturday, April 20, at six-thirty o’clock in the evening at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Washington. Larry Davidson of Watkinsville officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Hays of Lafayette, Ind.

The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Willie Nunn of Crawfordville.

A l940-style was used in decorating with purple, white, and silver with blue accents used in the color scheme.

Levi Nunn of Thomson served as best man and Darrick Hays of St. Louis, Mo., brother of the bride, served as usher. Groomsmen were Buddy Beggs of Robinson and Justin Tucker of Washington, nephews of the bridegroom; Paul Wright of Washington, and Danny Hobbs of Louisville.

Liz Thrush of College Town, Penn., was the bride’s honor attendant. Bridesmaids were Savannah Carani of Crawfordville, niece of the bridegroom; and cousins of the bride, Savannah Hays of Knoxville, Tenn., and Kate Chambers and Sarah Chambers of Acworth.

Cousin of the bride, Scarlet Hays of Knoxville, Tenn., served as flower girl.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride was elegant in her strapless gown, the bodice of which was adorned with sequins and pearls.

Her veil extended from a match- ing headpiece.

She carried a bouquet of purple hydrangeas, roses and other bloooms. She also had a yellow rose with white trim to honor her mother, sweet peas to honor her paternal grandmother, Pauline Hays, and various brooches to honor her great-aunt, Sissy Williams, and her great-grandmothers, Alice Hendrickson and Hazel Williams. The lace surrounding the base of her bouquet was from the veil of her grandmother, Mary Grant.


Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents entertained the couple and guests at a reception at the Fitzpatrick Hotel in Washington.

Lainey Beggs of Robinson and Whitney Carani of Crawfordville, nieces of the bridegroom, tended the guest book.

Pam and Newton Gunter of Washington, aunt and uncle of the bridegroom, prepared the buffet of hors d’oeuvres and also a postwedding basket and cooler for the couple after the reception.

Following a wedding cruise to the Bahamas, Mr. and Mrs. Nunn are residing in Thomson.

Rehearsal Dinner

Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Hays were hosts at a rehearsal dinner at Court Street Livery in Washington honoring Darcy Hays and Brandon Nunn.

The delightful evening was enhanced with live music played and sung by family and friends.

Also enjoyed during the evening was delicious homemade ice cream.
