Wouldn’t it be nice to have one calendar with the birthdays and anniversaries of everyone you know already on it? The annual Wilkes County 4-H community birthday calendar fundraiser is a great opportunity to make this happen. 4-H members are currently selling community birthday calendars for the 2014 year.

“This is our largest fundraiser for the year. It has always been popular and we would like for it to be successful again this year,” County 4-H Agent Audra Armour said. “The calendars are a wonderful way to keep up with all your important dates to remember.”

The calendars are $7.00 each and include five listings (combination of birthdays and/or anniversaries). Additional listings are $1.00 each and additional calendars are $6.00 each.

4-H County Council officers and board members will be selling ads to local businesses. “This is a great opportunity for local businesses to get their name and phone number in front of the community all year long,” Armour explained. Single line directory ads are $15.00 each and block ads are $35.00 each.

The deadline to order calendars is September 20, and the delivery date is in mid December.

“Money raised through this fundĀraiser helps offset trip and contest expenses for 4-H members. Every bit of money raised is used to help educate our youth.” Contact a 4-H’er or the 4-H office at 706-678- 2332 for ordering information.
