Irelle Long Glenn

Funeral services for Irelle Glenn, 92, of Danielsville, were held Friday, December 13, at 2 p.m. at Danielsville United Methodist Church with Rev. Calvin Ward officiating. Burial followed at Jones Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery. She died Tuesday, December 10.

A native and lifelong resident of Madison County, Mrs. Glenn was the daughter of the late Thaddeus and Ina Mae McGarity Long, and the wife of the late Earl Langlin Glenn. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Rebecca Glenn Brown and sister Virginia Matthews. She retired from USDA/ ASCS Madison county office and was a longtime member of Danielsville United Methodist Church where she was very active.

Survivors include her son, Larry Glenn and his wife Phyllis of Watkinsville, daughter Malinda Glenn Matthews and her husband Rex of Hull; son-in-law Brooks Brown of Washington; grandchildren Glenn Brown and his wife Cheryl, Katie Brown, Thad Brown and his wife Amy, Josh Glenn and his wife Leigh, Mary Glenn Boykin and her husband Bo, Amanda McWaters, Meggan Carroll and her husband David, and Wayne Matthews; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Larry Pierce, Pat Graham, George Elrod, Bob Pendleton, Robert George Strickland Jr., Robert George Strickland III, Glenn Dillard Jr., Donald Segers, Rick Ryder. Honorary pallbearers were Dr. Hamil Murray and the members of the United Methodist Women and Faith and Unity Sunday School Class.

The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Danielsville United Methodist Church.
