Bethlehem Baptist Church will celebrate its Pastor Anniversary on the third Sunday in March, March 16, at 11:45 a.m. with Rev. Larry Norman as the guest speaker. The Flint Hill and New Grove choirs will render the music. Dinner will be served.

The Wilkes County Board of Commissioners will meet in regular session on Thursday, March 13, in the Wilkes County courthouse at 6 p.m. with a work session immediately prior in the chairman’s office beginning at 5 p.m.

The New Salem Baptist Church will hold its Family and Friends Day on Sunday, March 23, at 3 p.m. with Rev. Gantt, pastor of Maple Spring Baptist Church of Elberton as the guest minister. The fellowship meal will be served prior to the service.

Brinkley Chapel Baptist Church will hold its Spring Revival March 5-7 at 7:30 nightly. Reverend Timothy Bell of Wadley will be the speaker for the services.

Mt. Carmel Baptist Church will be celebrating its pastor’s tenth anniversary on Sunday, March 16 at 3 p.m. Rev. Norman Williams of Springfield Baptist Church will be the guest speaker. Everyone is invited.

The Iris Garden Club will meet Tuesday, March 11, at 10 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church. Wilkes County Extension Coordinator Frank Watson will present the program, “To Prune or Not To Prune.”

Mount Nebo Baptist Church will celebrate its pastor’s 22nd anniversary on Sunday, March 23, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Ian Spencer of Pleasant Grove C.M.E. Church in Lincolnton as guest speaker.

Black Rock A.M.E. Church will celebrate its 149th church anniversary on Sunday, March 9, at 11:30 a.m. The guest speaker will be Rev. Patricia Wilder of New Hope A.M.E. Church in Warrenton.

Dinner will be served.

The Pole Branch Baptist Church Women’s Conference will be held March 1, from 10 a.m.-noon. The guest speaker will be Sis. Eunice Thurman from Gloves A.M.E. Church in South Carolina.

New Ford Baptist Church will host its annual Family and Friends Program on Sunday, March 9, at 2:30 p.m. The community is invited to participate. Dinner will be served after the service.

Clifford Grove Baptist Church of Rayle announces the installation of new pastor, Reverend Kavius A. Young, and Lady Tara M. Young on Sunday, March 2, at 3 p.m. at The Pope Center in Washington. Dinner will be served from 2-3 p.m. All services for Sunday, March 2, will be at The Pope Center. Sunday School will be held at 9:45 a.m. with church services following at 11 a.m.

Wills Memorial Hospital will sponsor a health fair at the hospital from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. on Saturday, March 29.

Washington Presbyterian Church holds a weekly Bible study on Wednesdays at 10 a.m. in the comfort of the manse. Attendees are currently viewing a series of lectures on the Old Testament by Prof. Amy- Jill Levine of Vanderbilt University. A time of discussion follows. The public is invited.

The W-W Toastmasters Club will have its regular meetings on March 3, 17, and 31 the Mary Willis Library from 6-7:15 p.m. Members of the Wilkes, Lincoln, and McDuffie communities who are age 18 and above and desire to improve public speaking and leadership skills are invited to attend and participate.

The Class of 1964 will have a meeting on Sunday, March 2, at the home of Charles Wright, 214 McLendon Drive, Washington, at 5 p.m.
