Superintendent reports on schools

Wilkes County Superintendent of Schools Dr. Rosemary Caddell (left) told members of the Washington Rotary Club that local schools were second only to Columbia County in the CSRA on the CCRPI (College and Career Readiness Performance Index), and was in about the top third statewide. “Those results validated that we are doing a lot of things right,” she said. She also reported on changes in how diplomas are awarded and explained the various pathways and certifications associated with diplomas. “We are fortunate to have many people [in the system] who are very interested in the children and in what’s best for them,” she said. Board of Education member Steve Albertson was program host.
