The Wilkes County Board of Commissioners will meet at 2 p.m. on Thursday, December 11, at the Wilkes County courthouse with a work session in the chairman’s office beginning at 1 p.m.

Raytown Baptist Church will present a Christmas pageant, “He’s Still The King of Kings” on Saturday, December 13, at 6:30 p.m. The musical will feature a costumed live nativity and the junior choir as well as Raytown’s combined choir. Finger foods and Christmas treats will be provided after the performance. The public is invited.

The Washington-Wilkes Toastmasters Club will meet at 6 p.m. on December 1 at the Mary Willis Library. Anyone age 18 or over with a desire to improve communication or leadership skills is invited to attend and participate.

The annual Legislative Breakfast will be held Thursday, December 4, at 8 a.m. at the Third Shiloh Rev. G. L. Avery Center. Cost is $12. The breakfast is sponsored by the Washington-Wilkes Chamber of Commerce and Family Connection and Communities In Schools of Wilkes County.

The Wilkes County Relay for Life Planning Committee and Team Captains meetings will be held on the second Tuesday of each month at 5:30 p.m. at The Sanctuary Church. The public is invited and encouraged to attend on December 9, January 13, February 10, March 10, and April 14. Other important Relay for Life dates include the kickoff on Tuesday, January 6; the Relay for Life on April 17 from 6 p.m. to midnight; and the Survivor Dinner tentatively set for March 24.
