Summer Food Service to provide free meals for kids during July

Meals will be provided to children free of charge thanks to the Bright From the Start – DECAL Summer Food Service program sponsored by the W-W Parks and Recreation Department (W-WPRD) and Family Connection and Communities in Schools of Wilkes County (FCCIS).

Free lunch will be available to all Wilkes County children ages 2-18 Mondays through Thursdays, July 5-28, from noon-1 p.m. at the Reese Booker Community Center, 118 Whitehall Street in Washington. Afternoon activities will include track and field events, arts and crafts, and other supervised play.

Acceptance and participation requirements for the program and all activities are the same for all regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, age or disability.
