The annual Rotary Club Spring Auction will be held on Saturday, March 18, in the ballroom of the Fitzpatrick Hotel from 6-9 p.m. Both silent and live auctions will be held featuring a wide variety of items. Proceeds will benefit the many local programs supported by the Rotary Club. The public is invited.

An Easter Sunrise Service on The Square will be held at 7 a.m. April 16. The service, sponsored by Wilkes Ministers United, will be held at the First United Methodist Church in case of inclement weather.

Black Rock A.M.E. Church will celebrate its 153rd anniversary on Sunday, March 19, at 2:30 p.m. with Rev. Paul Hull of Twin Oak Baptist Church as the guest preacher. Twin Oak and Heard’s Chapel will be the guest churches. Dinner will be served afterward. The public is invited.

The Pompey Chapel Baptist Church will hold its Family and Friends Day program on Sunday, March 26, at 2:30 p.m. Pastor Leroy Hudson, the choir, and deacons of Thankful Missionary Baptist Church of Gibson will be special guests.

Mount Nebo Baptist Church will celebrate its pastor’s 25th anniversary Sunday, March 26, at 11 a.m. Special guests will be Rev. Anthony Jones and the Jones family of Warrenton.

Heard’s Chapel Baptist Church will have its spring revival Tuesday Thursday, March 21-23, at 7 p.m. with Rev. Henry Easley of Trinity Baptist Church as the speaker.

The BreasTest and More Program at the Wilkes County Health Department has help to assist in paying for mammograms for the uninsured when funding is available. Clients must be 40-64 years of age, have no health insurance, and meet certain financial requirements. The Washington Affiliate, OLLI@UGA will sponsor “A Day Visit to the Monastery of the Holy Spirit” in Conyers on Monday, April 24, leaving from the Episcopal Parish House at 8 a.m. and returning at 5 p.m. There is no admission cost.
