Vintage cyclists keep the thrill alive at Aonia

Aonia Motocross Park hosted the first vintage motorcycle event of the year last Saturday. The event – sanctioned by the American Historic Racing Motorcycle Association (AHRMA) and Southeastern Vintage Motocross, and the Atlanta Motorcycle Club (AMC) – attracted nearly 200 participants from around the Southeast. Riders competed in trials, motocross, cross-country, and short-track events, with nearly 120 in 12 motocross events over the natural-terrain track. Aonia has been the home venue for AMC’s quarterly vintage meets for a number of years, and continues to be used despite major highway construction that’s claimed a large portion of the property. AHRMA/AMC’s next vintage event is May 13. Aonia Motocross Park hosted the first vintage motorcycle event of the year last Saturday.
