The Sharon Shenanigans on April 29 will encompass extra events including breakfast at the Sharon Community Center beginning at 8 a.m.; the “Tour de Taliaferro” bicycle rally which will start at the Community Center at 10 a.m.; and the entire Shenanigans Community Fair from 10 a.m.-4 p.m.

A.H. Stephens State Park in Crawfordville will host it’s “RAM the DAM” paddle boat regatta from 4-6 p.m. on Friday, April 28.

The BreasTest and More Program at the Wilkes County Health Department has help to assist in paying for mammograms for the uninsured when funding is available. Clients must be 40-64 years of age, have no health insurance, and meet certain financial requirements. Call the Wilkes County Health Department at 706-678-2622 for more information and to schedule an appointment.

The Wilkes County Board of Education will meet at the board office on N. Alexander Avenue on Monday, May 15, at 2 p.m.

New Life Baptist Church is hosting its eighth annual tent meeting through April 21. Services begin each night at 7 p.m. and are packed with spirit-filled singing and dynamic preaching of inspiration and encouragement. The Washington Affiliate, OLLI@UGA will sponsor “A Day Visit to the Monastery of the Holy Spirit” in Conyers on Monday, April 24, leaving from the Episcopal Parish House at 8 a.m. and returning at 5 p.m. There is no admission cost. Homecoming for Sandy Cross Baptist Church is scheduled for Sunday, April 23, with speaker and interim pastor Rev. John Austin. Barbecue lunch will follow the worship service. Sunday School begins at 10 a.m. and the worship service follows at 11 a.m.

The Washington City Council will meet on Monday, May 8, at The Pope Center beginning at 6 p.m. A work session will precede the meeting at 5:30 p.m.
