Helen Holmes reports that The News-Reporter and “the Tignall Quad Squad” recently returned from a fabulous fun-filled 15-day cruise from San Francisco through the Panama Canal to Ft. Lauderdale. Along the way they visited Mexico, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Colombia, and Aruba. “It was a once-in-a-lifetime adventure,” she said, “and of course The News-Reporter came with us.” Shown above are Marion McHugh, Helen, and Margaret and John Krakeel as they were entering the first of three locks on the Panama Canal. “It was fascinating, only about a foot between the ship and the walls of the locks,” Helen said. “The complete transit took almost all day.” The group also took part in the nine-lap walk around the deck of the Island Princess for the “Walk for the Cure,” a fundraiser for cancer.
