William H. Miller

Funeral services for William H. (Bill) Miller were held at 11 a.m. Monday, May 8, 2017, at the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Washington with Father Stephen Lyness officiating. Burial followed at the St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery. He died Thursday night, May 4, 2017, at Wills Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Miller was a native of Washington, and had lived in Wilkes Co. most of his life. He was the son of the late Luther and Myrtle Hackney Miller, and was the widower of Mara Gianregoria Miller. He served in the U.S. Army during WW II, was the owner/operator of Miller Wood Products, and was a member of the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Bradford Lee Combs.

Mr. Miller is survived by his daughter, Debbie M. Tanner, of Washington; one grandson, Brandon Marcus Combs and wife, Farren, and one granddaughter, Ashton Leah Tanner, both of Washington; and one great-grandson, William Bradlee Combs, also of Washington.

Hopkins Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
