Elizabeth Florrye Reynolds

A Celebration of Life for Elizabeth (Liz) Florrye Reynolds, 103, of Liberty Street was held at 3 p.m. Friday, June 2, 2017, at the Washington Presbyterian Church with Rev. Glen Kohlhagen officiating. Interment followed at Resthaven Cemetery. She died at her home on May 30, 2017.

Miss Reynolds was born in Siloam on May 22, 1914, and was the daughter of the late DeLeon Hamilton Reynolds and Ann McMekin Boswell Reynolds. She graduated from Washington High School and was the office manager for Pet Milk in Washington until her retirement in 1979. She was very active in the community and the Washington Presbyterian Church, having served as an Elder and a Trustee. She was a member of the Washington-Wilkes Historical Society, Friends of the Mary Willis Library, and the Wills Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. She was also an honorary member of the Presbyterian Women. Her siblings, DeLeon H, Reynolds Jr., Helen R. Hodgson, Carolyn R. Lamkin, and Josephine R. Bryson preceded her in death. A nephew, Turner Bryson, also preceded her in death.

Survivors include her brother, James A. Reynolds, of Washington; five nephews, DeLeon H. Reynolds III of Washington, Randy Lamkin of Bluffington, S.C., Boswell Lamkin of Augusta, James M. Reynolds of Knoxville, Tennessee, and Hamilton Reynolds of Atlanta; two nieces, Mackie B. Combs of Appling, and Ann R. Gordon of Raleigh, N.C.

The family would like to express its deep appreciation and gratitude to Reba Howell for making Liz’s final days as comfortable as possible.
