We must believe in our salvation

By REV. FICKLEN GUIN
(Hebrews 7: 19-28)

We are told in the Gospel of Luke that God sent his angel, Gabriel, to Galilee to a virgin expoused to a man whose name was Joseph. Her name was Mary and Gabriel told her, “ Thou that art highly favored, the Lord is with thee, blessed art thou among women…Thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name Jesus.” (Luke 1:26-30)

This was the beginning of our eternal priesthood sent to us from God to save our souls from sin. “For the law made nothing perfect, but the bringing in of a better hope did, by which we draw nigh unto God. And inasmuch as not without an oath he was made priest. The Lord swore and will not repent, thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.” (verses 19-21)

Our salvation of our soul was issued into our world when God allowed His Son Jesus to be born into our world to become our Saviour from our sins. “By so much was Jesus made a surety of a better testament.” (verse 22) When we accept Jesus to be our Saviour God gives to us eternal security that carries us through this life into eternal life in Heaven with God our creator.

“Wherefore he (Jesus) is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing that he ever liveth to make intercession for them.” (verse 25) This speaks to all of us who repent of sin and accept Jesus to be our Saviour.

“For Jesus became such a High Priest who in holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens.” (verse 26)

Jesus did not have to offer a lamb sacrifice for himself liken unto the priest of the Old Testament. “For this he did once when he offered himself” (verse 27) on the Cross of Calvary. Jesus is our eternal everlasting Priest that cleanses us from our sins and carries us into Heaven to be with His Heavenly Father forever.

“For the law maketh men high priests which have infirmity; but the word of the oath, which was since the law, maketh the Son, who is consecrated for evermore.” (verse 28)

When we accept Jesus as our Saviour from our sins, it is forever and eternal with God in Heaven when we die our physical death on earth.

Revelations 22:1-6 says, “And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb. In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was the tree of life which bore twelve manners of fruits and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. And there shall be no more curse; but the throne of God and the Lamb shall be in it…And they shall see his face, and his name shall be in their foreheads…And there shall be no night there…These sayings are faithful and true.”
